Research topic: Animal cognition and motor behavior

Research methods: Analytic and descriptive custom-designed tools for behavioral analyses in humans and other animals, primarily based on automatic and semi-automatic extraction of data from video.

Main projects in the lab include:

  1. Motor rituals in Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD): the manifestation of incompleteness and reduced functionality
  2. Motor rituals and repetitive behavior in normal behavior (sports, African culture, everyday motor tasks)
  3. Video-telemetry as a tool in studying mental disorders
  4. Spatial cognitive behavior: insight from rat spatial behavior into human cognition in urban environments
  5. Threat detection: Behavioral practices in animals and humans
  6. Collective behavior in animals – the impact of social rank and gender
  7. From animal models to collective behavior in humans
