Research topic: neural plasticity and behavior: from neuronal networks to behaving animals; Invertebrate models in neuroscience.

Research methods: Behavioral observations and analysis, Electrophysiology, Computer modeling and simulations, Molecular biology, Immunohistochemistry, and more.

Main projects in the lab include:

  1. Insect locomotion: neural generation, coordination and control – from biology to robotics
  2. Neural mechanisms of rhythmic behavior: central pattern generating circuits
  3. Locusts and their density-dependent phases: a model for behavioral and neurobiological plasticity
  4. Bio-inspired technological applications (collaborative projects with engineering, Mathematics, and more)
