Tel Aviv University researcher Dr. Ben Meir Maoz has built a human brain on a chip and showed how the blood vessels “communicate” with the neurons. The breakthrough will enable more effective drug development for humans, with an emphasis on neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s. This work was published in Nature Biotechnology jurnal.
