Research project

I am a collaboration Masters student in Dr. Yossi Yovel's and Dr. Liad Mudrik's labs.
My research is dealing with a question about conscious and unconscious processes in bats. We aim to answer this question by doing a variant of a conscious vs unconscious known paradigm in humans and transform it so it can answer our question regarding bats. While in humans we usually use vision stimuli, in the bats' case we use auditory stimuli by recording bats' vocalizations and play it to the bats. Answering this question using auditory stimuli, we are using a unique ability that bats share but humans don't which is calls echolocation – the ability to locate objects in the environment using reflections from sound.
Both my supervisors are a worldwide known researchers, each one in its own field – Dr. Yossi Yovel is an expert in bats research and Dr. Liad Mudrik is an expert in conscious and unconscious research.
