I am looking for a talented computational biologist for a postdoctoral/doctoral position in my lab.
The main focus of my bioinformatic group is RNA editing, a process upon which mRNA is enzymatically modified from its genomic blueprint. I am looking for an excellent candidate to take part in an exciting new project, where we study the extent of this phenomenon in cephalopods. As we’ve shown in recent years (see attached paper, for example), these species utilize RNA editing to an unprecedented level – over half of their proteome may be modified by editing!
We utilize extensive RNA-seq experiments, and work in a close collaboration with a leading experimental group in the US, which study the physiological implication of the editing events, in particular their effect of the organism neurobiology. It is possible to combine experimental work (in the US lab) with the computational project.
Please email me if you’re interested.
