Lecture title: Neuroinflammatory remodeling of Blood brain barrier

Research topic: Neuroinflammatory remodeling of Blood brain barrier, Physiology and pathophysiology of tight junction, Blood brain barrier permeability in disease pathogenesis

Research methods: Mouse model of stroke (middle cerebral artery occlusion, thromboembolic stroke), various knockout and transgenic mice for modeling Alzheimer disease (5XFAD mice), Cerebral cavernous malformation type 3 (CCM3), diabetes type 1. analysis of posttranslational modification of Tight junction protein, protein knockdown and overexpression; functional assessment of ion- and size-selectivity of the tight junction barrier in vitro and in vivo fluorescent and electron microscopic imaging of tight junction structure, live imaging and application of quantitative fluorescent techniques (e.g. FRAP, FRET, and targeted photo-activation) in live cells and animal tissues;

  2. Molecular mechanism of vascular dysfunction in cerebral cavernous malformation type 3
  3. Vascular injury in diabetes and diabetic ketoacidosis
