Research topic: Investigating how perceptual and motor memories are formed, modified and internally represented in the human brain, and the resulting learning which enables skill improvements over time.

Research methods: Psychophysics, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), Functional MRI (fMRI), EEG.

Main projects in the lab include:

  1. Identifying the processes required during memory formation for optimal and generalized perceptual and motor learning.
  2. Dissecting the neural mechanisms associated with modification of existing memories following their reactivation and the resulting effects of these mechanisms on perceptual and motor learning.
  3. Studying non-invasive brain stimulation strategies to facilitate or inhibit synchronized function in the brain areas involved in order to improve memory gains and subsequent learning, or to degrade unwanted memories.
